Arsene Wenger is reportedly uncertain over the expected return date of Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere. The 23 year old ,who has been out since November, was expected to return within the next few days however Arsene Wenger seems unconvinced.
The Gunners face Leicester City on Tuesday and Arsenal manager offered an update on Wilshere’s status that was not overly convincing,
“We have to monitor him daily. I don’t know when he’ll return.”
Considering the 23 year old was initially ruled out for three months this sounds rather ominous, especially for someone who has a bad history with injuries and setbacks. Wilshere will be hoping to return to full fitness sooner rather than later as the Gunners enter a crucial run in chasing down a top four place for the 18th season in a row.
Arsene Wenger also gave an update on the injury status of Alex Oxlade Chamberlain which was slightly more precise,
“He’s not back,” said Wenger. “He’s got at least two more weeks.”
Luckily at the moment we are not too stretched in terms of injuries and with the return of Alexis Sanchez the Arsenal boss will have a real job on his hands selecting his best XI.
