Arsenal will be buoyed by recent wins against Montpellier and Spurs, which look to have kick started their season. Aston Villa on the other hand, were last week thrashed by Manchester City and are in a serious dip of form that is pushing them ever closer to the relegation dogfight.
There is a little to offer in terms of team news, Arsenal’s Theo Walcott continues his spell on the sidelines while Darren Bent makes a welcome return to Paul Lambert’s squad. Both Charles N’Zogbia and Richard Dunne will continue their recoveries from the sidelines. Andre Santos will miss out due to a stomach muscle injury while Gervinho and Kieran Gibbs make a return to the squad and could pose some interesting questions for Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal have a great record against Aston Villa at Villa park only losing 2 out of 28 meetings in all competitions. Lets hope we can keep up that run of form and really kick on this season.
