The Wales midfielder, who returned to first team action for the first time since late December, instantly provided a much needed spark after a gutless first 60 minutes but speaking to arsenal.com lamented the sloppy defending that led to the concession of three goals.
“We are really disappointed,”
“It was a massive game – there was a lot riding on it but we conceded some sloppy goals. We were quite vulnerable on the counter-attack and they exploited the opportunities.
He also discussed a lively start that saw Arsenal dominate the ball without actually showing much cutting edge.
“I thought we started quite positively, we had a few attempts and got into dangerous positions, but you can’t concede goals like that.
He also outlined the importance of picking ourselves up and trying to get into the right frame of mind for a vitally important semi final at Wembely this weekend,
“We have to pick ourselves back up now. We have still got a lot of points to play for. We are in the semi-final of the FA Cup so we have got to put things right.
After an awful showing it has cast doubt over our ability and bottle to actually close out the FA Cup, and for the first time in a long time it appears that the majority feel that Arsene Wenger’s tenure should conclude at the end of this season.
One thing is for sure, if we are to have a chance against a dangerous Wigan side we must see Ramsey from the start along with the Ox and possibly Sanogo. Giroud’s performances of late have been likened to a pub player and I think it is generally accepted that the Frenchman is incredibly limited when leading the line.
