Speculation is rife at the moment regarding the future of Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin. A series of injuries have hampered his progress at Real Madrid and the midfielder is reported to be keen to move away from the club in the summer. Moreover, according to widespread reports Mourinho is willing to offload Sahin, with the midfielder not in his current plans. Nuri Sahin is well down the midfield pecking order at Madrid and a move is vital for the former Dortmund player to kick-start his career again. Madrid can boast the likes of: Mesut Ozil, Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Lassana Diarra as midfield options, therefore it is no major surprise to see Sahin struggling to compete with such experienced, internationals. The young talented midfielder would thrive at a club like Arsenal, with the freedom to express himself and flourish.
How Much Will Sahin Cost Arsenal?
Well, Madrid and Mourinho only appear interested in loaning out the young talent on a season long loan deal, however, Sahin is reported to be interested in the club including a clause enabling a particular club to buy him for a set fee. This would enable Arsenal to sign him permanently after the season has finished and his loan has expired. With the arrival of Santi Cazorla imminent at Arsenal, if Nuri Sahin also joined the Arsenal project then exciting times surely lie ahead. Arsenal would be able to choose from an abundance of quality midfielders.
Although, the midfielder hasn’t had the opportunity to shine during his time at Madrid it is important to consider the players previous form at his former club Borussia Dortmund. During the 2009-2010 Bundesliga campaign Sahin started 33 out of a possible 34 matches. Nuri finished the season with eight assists and four goals to his name. In addition to this, the following season (2011) Sahin helped Dortmund to lift the Bundesliga title, playing an influential role scoring seven goals and setting up eight goals for his team mates. He was voted player of the season in the Bundesliga for his efforts.
Arsene Wenger is said to be a keen admirer of Turkish player and he could inject some spark into Arsenal’s midfield. In my opinion, it is important to have strength in-depth and the ability to rotate players, to keep them fresh etc. With Jack Wilshere still not fully recovered from his injury Sahin could well be the answer whilst, Wilshere recovers. Sahin has a keen eye for a defense splitting pass and the likes of Podolski and Giroud can take full advantage of this.
Who Is Interested In Nuri?
However, Arsenal will face stiff competition to acquire the players services with: Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Tottenham and Manchester United all being linked with a move for the Turkish playmaker.
With the player still at a young age and keen to play regular football, I believe Sahin could have a lot to offer Arsenal as long as his injury problems don’t come back to haunt him. It is great to see Arsene Wenger conducting his transfer business in such a way demonstrating how the club is ambitious. As long as Arsenal can hold onto their top players next season the north london club will surely be a force to be reckoned with.
Arsenal are in talks with both the player’s agent and Real Madrid over a loan deal so this could very well become a reality in the very near future. Furthermore, he would be a great addition to the Arsenal squad and offer the club valuable squad depth. Lets hope this deal happens and Arsenal can really push on next season.
