PSG boss Laurent Blanc has publicly stated that he ‘understands’ if frustrated Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani has the desire to move elsewhere and questioned the 28 year old’s behaviour this season.
Cavani, who announced himself on the European stage for Napoli, has experienced an up and down time in the French Capital, the 28 year old has struggled to displace fan favourite Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the focal point of the attack and has been limited to a role on the wing for the majority of his time at the Park de Princes. Cavani’s latest clash with PSG boss Laurent Blanc was reportedly when he demanded to replace Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up which could increase his odds of leaving on a number of football betting sites, speaking to journalists Blanc said the following,
“There is a problem with Cavani’s behaviour but my job is to think of the entire squad as a collective,”
After questioning the Uruguayan’s behaviour the Frenchman seemed resigned to the fact that Cavani may decide to leave in the near future,
“I believe that he can score here but I understand if he wants to consider other career opportunities.”
Arsene Wenger has reportedly been tracking Cavani since his Napoli days and has spoken of his admiration for the striker in the past, speaking to TFN 1 last year the Gunners boss said the following,
“I really like the player, I love his mind, but I find it a little playing with the handbrake to Paris.”
Even though this is a tenuous link at best, should Cavani become available it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Wenger take a punt on the Uruguayan in his quest to secure the club’s first Premier League title in over ten years.
